Braincare Broadmoor serves Colorado Springs, Fountain, Security-Widefield, Manitou Springs and the wider Pikes Peak region, including the soldiers and families of Fort Carson. The center sits inside Lake Plaza, a medical office building on Tenderfoot Hill Road, half a mile from I-25 at Lake Avenue and a few minutes east of The Broadmoor.
About this center
Our Colorado Springs center is in Suite 150 of Lake Plaza, a three-story medical office building at 1230 Tenderfoot Hill Road in the Broadmoor area of southwest Colorado Springs. Most of the building's tenants are medical practices, so the setting is quiet and familiar: a surface lot at the door and no hospital corridors. Take I-25 exit 138 (Circle Drive / Lake Avenue) and you are here in about two minutes; the Broadmoor World Arena and Venetucci Boulevard are just west, The Broadmoor resort is a short drive up Lake Avenue, and Fort Carson's Freedom Gate is a few miles south on Highway 115.
Your first visit begins with a Client Care Coordinator, who walks you through the process and fees before anything is scheduled. A technician then records your EEG and EKG in a quiet room, and a Braincare physician reviews the results with you before any protocol is proposed. Active-duty families and veterans can ask the coordinator about TRICARE and VA Community Care referrals.

Nelson S. Jaeggli, M.D.
Board-certified emergency medicine physician
Dr. Jaeggli is a board-certified attending physician in emergency medicine and has been with Braincare Performance Centers since 2022. He completed his emergency medicine residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital and received his medical degree from Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons.
Spencer Miller, M.D.
Board-certified neurologist
Dr. Miller is a board-certified neurologist affiliated with Baylor University Medical Center, where he specializes in stroke, headaches, traumatic brain injury, post-traumatic stress disorder and seizure. He received his medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine and spent five years in the U.S. Air Force.
Eric D. Miller, MS, PMHNP-BC
Board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner
Eric is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with more than 40 years of prehospital and critical care experience. A former paramedic, ER and ICU nurse, flight nurse and U.S. Air Force Reserve officer, he focuses on veterans, first responders and high performers.
What to expect
- A free consultation. You will receive a call from our office within 24 hours, between 9am and 5pm, to answer your questions, explain our process and fees, and help you decide if MeRT is right for you.
- An EEG recording. You have a unique brainwave signature. We record an electroencephalogram, paired with an electrocardiogram, to map how your brain is functioning today.
- A physician review. A physician reads your results with you and, if MeRT fits, builds the protocol that is specific to your brain.

Your brain has its own electrical rhythm. A technician fits an EEG cap and records your brainwave activity while a separate sensor records your heart's activity (EKG). The recording is painless and takes place seated in a quiet room. Your physician uses both recordings to see how your brain is functioning today and whether a personalized protocol makes sense. Recordings at Broadmoor take place in our Lake Plaza suite.
Every Braincare center accepts TRICARE, and we can help you understand referral and authorization steps before you commit to anything. Bring your questions; the Client Care Coordinator has walked many service members through this. Colorado is in the TRICARE West region (TriWest), and Fort Carson's main gate is a few miles south on Highway 115.
TRICARE informationCare does not stop at the first recording. Follow-up EEG and EKG recordings, together with conversations about how you are sleeping, thinking and feeling, help your physician assess change and adjust or continue your protocol. Your team explains the schedule that applies to your care. Results vary from case to case and are not guaranteed. Follow-up recordings happen in the same Lake Plaza suite as your first.
